Santi Kham Temple
Wat Santikham was originally named as “Wat Ban Kraek”. According to the historical sources, it was said that this temple used to be the hideout when there was battles or wars. The temple was named after the name of the army leader called Phraya Kraek”.
In 1978, Wat Kraek was registered by the Department of Religious Affairs and officially renamed according to the resolution of Sangha Supreme Council to “Wat Santikham”, meaning the “village of peace”. Nowadays, some seniors still get used to the original name of the temple. The temple is also the center of the community like in the past.
