Wat Na Sao

Wat Na Sao was built in 1757 by Phor Chao Luang and Phor San Kam Wissathan, both brought families and attendants from Chiang Saen to house more people, counting 20 households. In this number, the native language says "Sao", therefore they helping to donate property and labor to build this temple called Wat Na Sao is the first temple of the community like the heart of this community. Currently, the front of the temple has a distinctive Bodhi tree, which is that during the autumn each tree does not shed their leaves at the same time. One tree shed all its leaves. The next tree will shed its leaves after the first shed leaves during the spring also. Inside the temple, there is a Buddha image in the attitude of subduing Mara, one of the most beautiful faces in Nan province. Legend has it that this monk is fascinate women, so villager was called as Phar Chao Sao Lhong, until the villagers had to solve the problem by taking the heart of the Buddha image from the Buddha image to prevent various chaos. There are also hundreds of ancient Buddha statues and many valuable antiques for tourists to learn about the long history of this Na Sao community.
