Wat Phra That Sob Waen
Some Tai Lue people moved from Ban Yuan to settle down in Ban That Sob Waen. They found a Phra That (Buddha image) which contained a relic of the Buddha’s chin bone and named it as Phra That Sob Waen. The reason that they named it this name was because there are Hong River and Waen River converged which in Lue or northern language called Sob. Thus, it became “Sob Waen”. After that, Tai Lue people renovated and built a new Phra That covering the original one. Phra That Sob Waen is the first Phra That of the district. Wat Phra That Sob Waen is the second temple of Chiang Kham. There is an important ceremony which is holding an event on Visakha Bucha Day on every full moon of the 7th month, the Lue month.
