Khun Yuam Shrine

It is an important sacred place and binding to the lifestyle of the locals for a long time. Tai Yai people believe in holy things. There is a rite inviting their ancestor spirits called “Chao Mueang” to protect and take care of that city or community, to be a refuge and a mind anchor because Tai Yai people do not have any household spirit shrine. Khun Yuam people believe in this shrine that it is their mind anchor, a sacred place to rely on when in trouble, a place they can ask for safety when their children need to travel away for further study, or even for vowing to stop the rain in important ceremonies of the town, and a place where the locals have been respecting and worshipping all along.
