Kaokab Yai Dee Activity
Kaokab is a snack from the ancient time when there was no many snacks as in the present. It is delicious, easy to make with low cost. Moreover, it is popularly made in many merit festivals. The cooking steps start by soaking sticky rice in water for about 2 hours. Then, put it in a millstone and use the arm strength to mill the sticky rice into flour. After that, season it with salt, sesame, and sugar before applying the flour onto a piece of cloth. Rub soaked shell of Pussy Willow onto the cloth before applying the flour to make it smooth so that the flour will not stick to the cloth. Then, apply the flour in a round shape onto the cloth stretched upon a boiling pot. The steam will cook the flour. Next, put on a cogon grass panel and let it under the sun. Once the flour is dry, it will become a sheet. You can grill or fry it. Currently, Kaokab cannot be found easily, but you can surely find it here.
