Thwwada Luang Mueang Mang Tower

Thwwada Luang Mueang Mang Tower is spiritual center of Tai Lue people of Mueang Mang. In addition to the temple being a worshipping place, for taking an oath, for the prosperity of those who have been paying their respect, it was originally a location of the old Wat Saen Muang Ma since 1787 for the Tai Lue descendants. There will be a worship ceremony or a ceremony paying respect to the deceased ancestors on the 6th day of the 8th waxing moon in every year or around the end of May to June. In the evening before the ceremony day, there will be bamboo basketwork (Ta Laew) decorated on a house’s front door. It is believed that it can prevent any ghost to enter into house. The ceremony will be announced that it is currently held, and the outsiders are prohibited to join. The ceremony consists of Poh Moh Luang (ceremony performer), Poh Moh Noi (assistant performer), head of Bao Moh, Bao Moh, and Poh Phaya.

The ceremony starts in the morning which is the parade of Poh Moh Luang, Poh Moh Noi, ), head of Bao Moh, and Bao Moh, from Poh Moh Luang’s house to Poh Phaya’s house. Rice, food, and appliances will be carried on shoulders together with batons for ramming the ground showing a sign that the parade is going to Poh Phaya’s house. For the ramming sound, it is believed that it frightens spirits. Any houses with no Ta Laew attached in front of, spirits will enter into them. Then, the parade is heading to Poh Phaya’s house. Poh Phaya will be reported that the ceremony is going to start. After that, the parade will go to Thwwada Luang Mueang Mang Tower to perform the ceremony. Women are prohibited to join inside the ceremony area. Once the ceremony is done, every descendant will be allowed to worship and pray.
