Wat Phra That Doi Tung
Wat Phra Maha Chin That Chao, or commonly known as Wat Phra That Doi Tung, is located in the area called the chest of Doi Nang Non, Huai Khrai Subdistrict, Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province, which is the home of the hill tribe people. Doi Tung is approximately 46 km from Mueang Chiang Rai District. It is the oldest pagoda in the Lanna region. The most important religious site in Chiang Rai is located on the top of Doi Tung. It is the pagoda temple for those born in the year of the pig. It enshrines the left clavicle (collarbone).
