Phu Chi Fa Forest Park
Phu Chi Fa is the highest peak in the Doi Pha Mon mountain range, 1,628 meters above sea level. The side bordering the Lao People's Democratic Republic has a steep cliff, which is the most beautiful viewpoint. In winter, the scenery is especially beautiful. Most tourists will stay overnight at Ban Rom Fa Thong, about 1.5 kilometers from the viewpoint, and then walk up to Phu Chi Fa to see the view in the early morning. Along the way, you will find a plantation of wild Himalayan cherry trees in full bloom (January - February). In February, the white flowers around Phu Chi Fa will be in full bloom at the foot of the mountain. Activities: Seeing plants, camping, and sightseeing (Pha Chi Fa is a distinctive rock cliff that looks like an index finger pointing straight to the east. Phu Chi Fa is approximately 1,628 meters above sea level. The cliff is a steep slope covered with grass, shrubs, and rocks. There are no trees growing at all. You can walk along to the end of the cliff, which juts out. However, the most popular place for tourists to take pictures is the large rock formations on the edge of the cliff. Before reaching the end of Phu Chi Fa, about 300 meters, see the sea of mist. From Phu Chi Fa, you can look down to a small village in the valley in Chiang Tong Subdistrict, Laos, and the mountain range. In the distance is the Mekong River, which flows parallel to the Doi Pha Mon mountain range. In the early morning, the valley below is covered in mist. The view is even more beautiful. When the sun rises, Phu Chi Fa faces the east, making it a very popular spot for watching the sun. Tourists leave their accommodation and start walking up to the viewpoint before dawn.
