Wat Kae (Khun Phaen's House)
This is an ancient temple whose name appears in the literary work “Khun Chang Khun Phaen”. It is located in Mueang Suphan Buri District, approximately 2 kilometers north of Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat. Inside this temple, there is a large tamarind tree with a circumference of about 10 meters. It is believed that Khun Phaen learned the art of transforming tamarind leaves from this tree into wasps and hornets from Ajarn Kong to attack enemies. In addition, the province has built an ancient Thai-style house called “Khun Phaen’s House” near this giant tamarind tree. King Chulalongkorn once visited Wat Kae in 1904.
