The river of life of people, whether Tai Yai, Karen, Lua, Hmong, and other tribes. Legends and stories began here with kindness and goodwill that had been with Tai Yai people for a long time. Living lifestyle and culture of Khun Yuam people was magnificent, whether it be body, mind, and language, as well as conscious mind in conserving art, culture, and distinctiveness remarkable for a long time. Some Tia Yai people, who were living sporadically around the valley along the border on this side, migrated and settled down in Khun Yuam for many generations. With the geography that was an important trading route of the border with cow, horse, and rafting travelling styles, so this was a way of culture of Tai Yia people in Khun Yuam to operate trading business or to be in this cycle. Once the period of prosperous forest concession arrived, Khun Yuam changed its role to be an important economic town until the governor of Khum Yuam could fully collect taxes and was meritorious to be promoted as the first governor of Mae Hong Son.
