Tham Prathoon Temple

Wat Thampratun or also known as “Wat Trok Saeng” was originally a house of priest. It was approved by the Department of Religious Affairs to be a temple in 1981.The name was “Wat Trok Saeng” according to the village’s name located there at that time. Currently, there is no resident in such village. Later, the temple was renamed to “Wat Thampratun”. This temple was improved by Luangpu Aonsri Thanwaro, a well-known Buddhist monk mastering in meditation. All monks living in this temple have to do activities like a forest monk and strictly practice Vipassana meditation. As a result, this temple is well-known as the place for anyone who wants to learn dharma and practice meditation. There are lot of people visiting this temple for practicing dharma and making merits. Inside Wat Thampratun, there is a chapel where the wax statue of Luangpu Aonsri Thanwaro and his other belongings are located for studying and recalling his kindness.
