Sanctuary of Truth
Sanctuary of Truth (Prasat Satchatham) is the miracle of art. It is the wooden construction carved by skilled craftsmen. It is recognized as the largest woodcarving construction in the country. The locals call Prasat Satchatham as a “Wooden castle”. The elegance of patterns and stories of carving sculpture reflect the Ancient Vision of Earth, Ancient Knowledge, and Eastern Philosophy. Every part of the Sanctuary of Truth is embellished with solely wood carving, without any metal nails. It is built entirely of wood pieces and all joints are fitted and pinned with wooden dowels. It has been established in 1981 and awarded one of the Unseen in Thailand tourist attractions. This place provides knowledge and philosophy under its attractiveness. There are many beautiful corners for taking photos. In addition, many activities are available here, such as ridding on a horse-drawn carriage for taking a castle tour, elephant trekking, and cruising in the lake. The Sanctuary of Truth has been built for over 20 years but it has not been completed yet. Tourists are able to visit this place but they must be careful. Officers provide the safety helmets to tourists for the safety reason because the construction has always been developed and also carved every day. Ladies wearing shorts or mini skirt need to cover their knees and legs by a cloth before visiting the castle.
